KNIGHTS PLAYER Expectations

SHOW UP   You can’t improve if you aren’t there for practices or games

NO WHINING   Whining & winning don’t work well together.

DRESS PROPERLY  In Knight colors black, columbia, gray. Pants, hat, belt, clean shoes

BE KIND   Don’t be a jerk

GO HARD     RUN OUT EVERYTHING, DIVE FOR EVERYTHING.

SEE THE BALL  Number one fundamental of baseball is simply keeping our eye on the ball. At the plate, in the field & on the bases. Know where the ball is at all times.

FIGHT FOR OUTS   Only 21 outs to give and get… Fight for ALL of them.

KNOW THE OUTS  If you're not sure, ask the coach or an umpire.

FIGHT FOR INCHES Every inch of every lead (standard & secondary) matters. Positioning & pre pitch routine STEAL outs. Always position appropriately depending on situation & personnel

CREATE TONE TO SET TONE  RUN to position between innings (MASSIVE statement to other teams)

DO SOMETHING  Bench players STAY ACTIVE… STAY ready to get ready.

BE OBSESSIVE  Train hard, play easy

NO OBNOXIOUS CURSING  Watch your mouth and be respectful to others. Someone’s always listening.

NO BAT SLAMMING   We need them to hit

NO HELMET TOSSING It’s not the helmet's fault.

NO SIGN STEALING  We are preparing the kids for the road NOT the road for the kids.

NO ARGUING   That’s what coaches are for

TEMPO MATTERS  Be quick but don’t hurry.  Pitcher dictates the entire pace of the entire game.

PLAY FAST    Speed kills

PLAY FREE   Loose muscles = Quick muscles = POWERFUL muscles = TANKS

PLAY FEARLESS   Fear the man that has nothing to lose.

NO EATING DURING THE GAME  Eat before you get to the ballpark or between games

GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE STANDS You're with the coaches and team only from the time you get dropped off until the time you leave
